List of Things to bring to a Malay Wedding

There are in fact a few necessities that women in general must bring esp to a typical Brunei wedding. Hahaha this might not apply for all occasion but hey the list does help for me..

Most weddings I attend with people I know namely friends or family but on some odd occasion its just me and cboy in another kem. So times like this is a good time to be well prepared. As ctau gaban says karang everyone jadi anti social.. Hahaha better be doing something than be bored in the heat or rain.

Ok let's start with the basics;

1. Always always bring a 'Kiap', a fan or a mini electrical fan or 2. I often forget and my mum normally brings 2 so I learn this from her. If you happen to sit next to someone who didn't - the other fan might come in handy. You don't want them to keep leaning on ya to get to your wind. If you know what I mean. hehe So whether under the heat or inside a function room, a 'Kiap' is always good to have.

2. This one, I don't need to mention. The ubiquitous 'Mobly' - the mobile phone or cell! Yes, you can do wonders with this. If no one wants to chat with you, you can text your friends. Or listen to your Mp3 songs in your phone. If you're kinda bored and feels like wanting to really feel the moment, take photos of the occasion, the people in your kem, the bride and groom, the decor, just put up that phone and shoot. Oh not forgetting you can go online with your phone should you need to google something - like maybe wondering hey what's on Bahapa Kitani today? :P Another is to just leave your little Mobly connected on the internet and chat on MSN. Hey best way to chat with all your mates online. Send photos of how fun you are having at the wedding! Also last but not least you can play with the games in your phone. So start downloading for more games now before your next wedding invitation.

I should stop here.. having an all you can do Mobly is enough to keep you occupied during the 1 to 2 hour event!

3. Talking about MP3s, if you do wanna feel like the time flies so fast, bring a mini MP3 player or even better an Ipod! Don't forget to bring your headphones too.. Hey who would notice you listening if you where tudong anyways!

4. Speaking of Ipods! An Ipod Video does come in handy especially when you download some movies on it. So not only you're not bored during the wedding, the people next to you would love you more. Am sure they're also dreading and wish its time to go. So instead of being more antisocial, Ipod video might even help you make more friends. Make sure you have some Malay movies, who dont know who might sit next to you.

5. Hey, I should've mention this earlier. Mints, candy, gula-gula of any sort is a plus! Add to the to do things during a wedding. In fact you can also make friends or acquintance this way by offering them some. Oh for my friend - he he.. this is a good way to get to know someone's else (guy!) mom, sister or family members. Hahaha Should add this to under how to... Also if you happen to sit next to someone with bad breath, trust me this will help so bring a small packet of mint.

6. Tissues or better yet handy wipes - grab some in the car or buy one from the kedai k - kedai konvenience bah! In times of heat, good to wipe off sweat. Or you happen to be seated on a dirty seat or a seat kelurusan after a rain.

7. Sunglasses

8. Sedakah ready in your envelope.

9. Spare change like a tenner. Usually after a hot day mesti ke kedai konveniece to buy coke or 100plus.. waaaaahhhh karing leher kali ahh..

10. If it looks like its about to rain - bring a folded umbrella which you can bring in your bag

Well there you go... hope that comes in handy for those attending weddings. I know I will I already have 3 invitations ...
