Tamu Kianggeh

Have you ever been to the Tamu Kianggeh in Bandar? I decided to go there for fun because I always wanted to take some photos there. I didn't venture to look at the stuff they sell though, but am sure it's all interesting :) Will go there again soon, maybe after Puasa. I like watching the people selling fishes and other necessities from their boats. It reminds me of the old tradition & old days :)

and here's a photo of a building near the Tamu - Panggung Hassanal Bolkiah:

Here's also some photos of one of the best scenic drives (to me) in Brunei. I love passing this place, you can see the beautiful sea:

and the last two photos are Brunei in the hazy conditions right now. Sun so bright but haze all around. haze, haze, go away (sing to the tune of rain, rain, go away) hehe

Poll Results - "Which do you prefer?"

I actually intended to do something more with the poll results but due to lack of time, laziness & too many excuses, this will have to do for the first one hehe Maybe I'll do something more for the next poll results. We'll see.

So behold, here's the results for the Poll - "Which do you prefer?" Looks like most of us prefer home-cooked food more than outside food or maybe it's because it's still the first week? Oh well, wherever you sungkai, do remember to sungkai with moderation. Selamat Berpuasa everyone!

Diamond Collection Contact Lens

I received this in an email. I wonder if it's any comfortable??? and how much it costs???

Useless for anyone who always have a knack of losing their contact lens. hahaha. They'd probably be kicking themselves for losing the lens IF the diamonds are for real. hahaha. Of all places, why would I want diamonds in my eye though? Crazyyyy!

Do they really sell this thing? I can't seem to find the information on the internet. Interesting the stuff some people come up with hehe :)

when you don't have much to do :p

The other day me and c tautau were playing around. c tautau would think of a random month and I would think of a song (either Malay/Indonesia or English) with that particular month in the song, be it as part of the lyrics or as part of the title hehehe

This was what we could come up with:

January
Glenn - Januari

February
Handy Black - Sekuntum Mawar Merah (ani lama udah ni!!)

March
I couldn't come up with anything. c tautau came up with "When the saints go MARCH-ing in.." hahahaha

April
Fazley - Bila April

May
I dont exactly remember what we came up for May actually hehehe

June
Cant remember also. c tautau, you might want to edit later?!hehehe

July
Haha For this one I came up with HM's Birthday Song "15 Haribulan Julai... "

August
And for this one, I came up with one of Malaysia's song for its' National Day hahaha Sudirman (Ahmad CB) - 31 Ogos

September
Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends

October
Awie - Tragedi Oktober

November
Guns & Roses - November Rain

December
I cheated on this one and said any christmas songs would probably have december in it hahaha

At that time, we didn't use the internet so we couldn't really google for the lyrics. I tried googling for some of the months where we couldn't think of a song and turns out got quite a few. Interesting... Wonder what you guys would come up with (without the help of the internet also that is!)

Who says Barbie is for little girls only?

Talk about all things PINK! Look what I found on my random Pink searches. Say What? First it was Hello Kitty now it’s gone Barbie! Hahaha Presenting the all-pink Beetle Barbie limited edition car.

Apparently, there will only be 13 of these cars manufactured and to be sold through exclusive VW outlets in Mexico.

Mattel and Volkswagen are involved in the project that started in march 2006. And since the idea originated in Mexico, it will be here where the new car will be launched.

Here’s definitely Beetle Barbie for Big girls.

New Ipods Update from 12th September It’s Showtime.

Not much of a showtime for me cos was expecting a better version of apple ipod video. They came up with a 5.5G ipod video. Bosan! Only consolation is that Apple maybe dropping prices whilst expanding storage. Rumours has it that the new 30GB iPod cost US$250 (about B$400) previously B$500 plus, and the new 80 gigger for $350 (about $560).

Look at the new video ipod specs, screen is now 60% brighter, the battery can last up to 3.5 hours during video playback, and the iPod includes new headphones, but otherwise the specs remain the same. Hmmm bosan. Can do more with current 30G ipod video.

Not all is loss, Apple did come up with other cool Ipods. The new apple shuffle is very cool and very small too. Comes in just a 1GB capacity, and sports a shiny new aluminum body with a clip for easy wearability. Dang, makes my current shuffle look so worlds apart. Dang! Can I sell my shuffle? Hehehe any takers? Bargain basement price of only $79 (About B$126)

Also a new look for the nano ipod. Version looks like the older version mini ipod. They all sport an even-thinner aluminum case and are available in (again, mini-like) green, silver, black, blue, and pink. However, the 2GB and 8GB version are available in aluminum and black only, respectively. As for pricing, $149 for 2GB, $199 for 4GB, and $249 for the 8GB model. Apple sez: "Double the storage for the same price". So I guess the new ipod nano is a thumbs up look wise.

Hey c tau gaban.. now you can buy this one!

There you go on the Ipod updates. ‘Sigh’…. :)

What to do when the server and computer is down?

Yesterday was one of em days when I cannot access to the Internet or my office emails at work… Yikes! Good and Bad. Good cos I get to relax from checking my emails and having to sieve through the junk mails. Bad.. I got work to do or things to approve which I am unable to do so. Then again hey, I can’t do much so why bother. However can’t help but feel helpless. I’m not a 24/7 computer person but yet I have this urge that you need to access something over the internet or at least do something using the computer. Aaaaaaa does that mean I’m addicted? The feeling is weird that’s for sure.

So I decided to keep me self occupied since I can’t do much with my computer for time being. Unfortunately all my docs in the server, which I am unable to access. Dang! Lesson learned keep backups of immediate work in pen drive or C: drive. Hahaha. Back ups all in the server. Over reliance on the server for my case!

Anyways, things I did today that does not involve the computer:

1. Occasional approvals over the fax. No emails resort to faxes or telephones.
2. FILING! Urgh my most dreaded things to do but hey I’ll take the server not working as my sign to clean my desk.
3. SPRING CLEANING! No doubt I have been procrastinating this. My piles and piles of newspapers, odd papers that need filings, reports needs to go in its proper places, research papers! Aaaaaaaa.. At times you have so many things around you don’t even know where to file em. You wish they would just magicly disappear and reappear as and when you need em. Also throwing out or recycling unwanted papers.
4. READ the newspaper piles – throw or recycle the pile after that.
5. Pre Blog – After tired reading the lastest and past news, filing while listening to my ipod, I decided to Blog this using word. I’ll upload later.
6. EXERCISE – Reading past pelita, there was a section on ‘Bersenam di Pejabat’. Might as well give it a try. More like weight lifting books on a chair. Then again something to do.
7. Occasionally check if the server if okay. Dang still not. Okay.. What to do next.
8. Munch munch on some snacks include 2 Rambutans – apparently freshly picked in Kampung, Keropok and some mineral Sehat Water.
9. Read magazines lying around!
10. Pray
11. Organise my folders and C drive and pen drive.
12. Chit chat with colleagues

All this organising and spring cleaning is really tiring and can really take up so much time. Seriously! Nevertheless am glad my table for now is no longer an eye sore.

What would you without the computer in the office?

A bit on the tech side!

C tau gaban and I have been discussing on new phones and new ipods past days. We saw this guy using this very thin phone and we were searching for it. Finally found it today.. at least we think so.. We know for sure it wasn't the motorola Razor.

Here is it.. Samsung X280 which happens to be the world's slimmest phone. Hmmm.. okay..

We do however also like the new Nokia n93.. only after watching its advert with Gary Oldman. very cool advert. We watched it together and laughed at his modesty for being the leading man! hahaha Also we likessss the song on the advert... I've forgotten now but if I'm not mistaken its by mobly... Hey c tau gaban.. please correct me. You know the song... Very catchy too hahaha but a bit zombie like when you hear it over and over again.. Plus it's as good as any camera using Carl Zeiss optics, 3x Optical Zoom" and can record DVD like quality videos on the impressive high definition 2.4!

Over to our next topic, was me contemplating to buy an Ipod Video or not cos I remember reading a month ago that new ipods gonna be out. So rather than buy an older version I should wait for the newer better version right? So we searched.. me and c tau gaban as usual finding things to do! Bahapa kitani? biasalah! hehehe So we searched a couple of weeks ago with not much luck. Only thing we found out was about a touch-screen Ipod Video. Then again.. doesnt say when... By the way, we're not so thrilled on touch-screen stuff cos 1. Scratches 2. if something goes wrong touch-screen is hard to replace. hmmm then again it has it's coolness.. Man ipod's krg jadi PDA pulang.. you can do wonders with Ipods.

Okay, today I searched for more and apparently news has it .. It's Showtime...

A number of recent reports have claimed that Sept 12th will bring an Apple media event with iMac updates. ThinkSecret now reports that Apple's September 12th media event will also introduce a 2nd generation iPod Nano and an updated 5G iPod alongside upgraded iMacs. According to the rumor site the new iPod nano will feature larger storage capacities as well as multiple colors in a metal finish. Meanwhile, the new full-size iPod will simply sport upgraded capacities at the same price point. ThinkSecret does not expect the long rumored touch-screen video iPod until 2007, but does expect the introduction of the iTunes Movie Store at this event.

So yea, there we have it. Am a bit disappointed cos I would've thought a newer versions of the Ipod Video. Dang! Then again.. 12th September is yet around the corner.. so I'll pray they have a newer version... Ani Ipod nano saja.. boring ih... Ok will update more when I get more info..

Siuk kali ah Ipod Video ani.. you can do wonders with! I've heard many stories that people winning Ipod's and not knowing how to use it... Dang wish I won one! An Ipod Video.. Nano boleh lah but i'll trade it with something else then.. I hope Apple will come out with 100 GB Ipod Video soon. hahaha

What to do when you have a flu?

Having a flu is never the best feeling to have. I'm currently having one and yeah it kinda sucked! If I was in school I'd probably enjoy it cos I'd get off school but I guess since its school holidays its also not a nice thing to have since a holiday is meant for a holiday - i.e Having fun!

After a couple of days struggling with body aches and fuzzy feeling around the head. Not forgetting my swollen tonsils, thus swallowing food is a problem! Also that funny feeling like someone is poking in your ears. Yikes! I decided to go to the clinic today. Got my medication although not so sure if it does apply. Everyone knows antibiotic doesnt help much with flus. I might as well eat it for the sake of knowing it will make me better.

For once I actually got an MC today by the doctor, normally she doesnt give me. And for a first I rejected her MC... Dang! I knowwww... I can hear ya! Why didn't you take it? Well, I guess when it comes to real life - out of school that is, comes responsibilities known as WORK!!! Dang that word just keeps banging in my ear, perhaps even laughing at me. Oh well, nonetheless rather than self pity, I'll keep myself busy and pretend I dont have it. Although the out of body experience is very hard to ignore.

Anyways, I checked out the internet to see what I should do and compare with what I have been doing for so far when I do get a flu.

Try these
tips if you get the flu:

1. Rest in bed or on the couch.

This is the best form of medicine when it comes to flu. I came down with a flu once over one weekend. I slept throughout the day, wake up and drink plenty of water, eat hot chicken broth porridge, took some painkillers, panadols, manuka honey for my sore throat or tonsilitis. By monday I was up and running.

Dang I should've done it over the weekend. I was so sure I was getting better that I only did the rest in one day but off course with a busy wedding weekend again sleep is not an option. Being stressed I've read can prolong the flu. So best to sleep, dont think and no stress!

Get lots of sleep and take it easy.

2. Drink lots of fluids.
Yes, plenty fluids. Mine would include, bottles of water. Although water during a flu taste dry. Drink cordials but not cold - this helps with the taste issue. Ask your maid to cook chicken broth and lots of em for morning, noon and night! Hot milo also helps a whole lot especially when you've lost all appetite to eat cos of your swollen tonsils. I like Neslo - Milo and Nestum. Nestum gives it an extra Ummmph. Normally at work I'd order hot lemon honey tea. Lemon and honey helps to soothe the throat. The heat helps to cool the chills that you get.

3. Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen to relieve your fever and achiness. Over-the-counter cold or cough medicines may also relieve some flu symptoms. Avoid taking aspirin, though, unless your doctor says it's OK.
Yes this can be necessary. I try to avoid it as I don't like to put much medicine into my system. Natural is the preference but is all else fails this does help to relieve the aches and pains.

4. Wear layers. You might be cold one minute and hot the next, and wearing several layers - like a T-shirt, sweatshirt, and robe - makes it easy to add or subtract clothes as needed.
Am wearing one right now.... oh no wonderlah I feel cold and chill all of a sudden ..

5. Wash your hands frequently. You don't want to spread the flu to everyone else, if you can help it. Also, don't share cups and eating utensils with other people until you're better.
Okay I didnt know this but hey it's always good to know.
I was kinda shocked to read this part "Most of the time, you'll feel better in a week or two". What? I can't afford to be sick for this long... Dang flu go away! hehehe Anyways, I better put my sleep-rest-drink-rest plan into action soon or else will prolong it even more. Hey am missing out on all the actions in bahapakitani karang.

If you have any specific 'feel-good' ways of what to dos during a flu, do share with us your chicken broth recipes, your best drinks to drink during a flu or perhaps other things that you do when you do get the flu.

Who says you can't have fun when you're sick! Yeeee haaaaaaaa!
