DO's and DONT's during/for HAJJ

DO's

1. Get mentally, physically and spiritually prepared for Hajj
2. Prepare what to bring early and get em ready. Here's
some lists to help you.
3. Listen to Travel Agent's advice
4. Pray as much as you can include 5 main prayers, prayer sunat - hajat, jenazah, etc,
5. Read and follow RUKUN, WAJIB and SUNAT Haji. Any RUKUN Haji not done means no Haj. Any WAJIB Haji no done must pay a penalty known as DAM. Sunat Haji adds value but not a must and if not done does not pay DAM.
6. Read Quran a whole lot
7. Doa as much as you can.
8. Talbiah, tasbih, tahmid as much as you can.
9. Remember what you are going for Haji for.
10. SABAR and plenty of em <----- This is KEY to whole thing!
11. Learn anggota wajib for wudhu to help avoid going to toilet too long.
12. Ask God Allah for help so tani inda kat kantut, inda kuat bekamih or going to toilet for the big one. Insyallah to help us be able to pray and avoid going to toilet esp when there is a lot a people during this time.
13. Sedakah if possible put in the ready available boxes in masjid or around town.
14. Ask the Mutawib for help or travel agent if you don't know. Jangan malu betanya
15. Always check leaflets or annoucement usually during meals for any trips organised, any announcements made, any classes arranged. Yes apparently there are classes ulangkaji for people who wants to remember.

DON'Ts

1. Bring too much stuff including food. You will have enough insyallah
2. Shop too much. Apparently that's what people tend to do. Remember what we go for Haj for.
3. Bring too much CASH to masjid. Put money in a safe. If need to bring money to masjid just bring enough to buy food or drinks or sedakah
4. Allocate time to SHOP to avoid bringing too much money
5. Don't overdo on UMRAH. Yes you can but you are here for Haj so preserve energy for the big thing - HAJI
6. As much as orang Brunei kuat bersedakah, Shukur Alhamdulillah, take care when bersedakah to kids or people on the street. Yes kesian but we do need to be careful jua. Just nod and walk away if need to. Some say once you give in the open, you can be bombarded by a lot more. So do take care.
7. Panic when lost. Stay calm and pray to God. Find a place where you think Bruneians will be there.
8. Try to go your own way. Eg if travel agent say we wont be staying over Muzdalifah, then don't go your own way to stay over or else you might be left behind and end up walking all the way to Mina.
9. Carry too much stuff during wukuf. Travel light, you might not know the bus will park very far from the tent. You will need to drag your bag quite a distance. So try to make life easier for you and others.

I know i have more to list but again I am kinda in a hurry so will add more later. Please send in comments or email us and share your experiences or do's and don'ts during or for Haji.

Your contribution is greatly appreciated! Every little helps!

Brunei Public Bus Transport Network

One day, ctautau & ctaugaban were walking around Brunei looking for new adventures.

They passed a printing company and saw a route map for a public transport system. Maybe it was the London Underground network route map but not sure.

ctautau then said "we should have one for the bus network here in Brunei and post it at antamsaja blog!"

ctaugaban replied " we do have one!"

..and off ctaugaban zoom for the next mission: find the bus network route map for Brunei!

Two days later, mission accomplished!YES!hehe

So for you adventurous people out there, why not give the purple buses a try? You can use the bus route map below, hehe! Bus fares start from $1 so go on & hop on!hehe Enjoy people!

Zakat Harta

Hi All

Tomorrow will be Hari Raya as festive day for us Muslims around the world. A time of joy and happiness for some but usually for all especially the poor. We at Bahapa Kitani we're all about helping others. Right kiddo! Bukan kan puji diri but rather sharing. That's why we have this blog in the 1st place is to share with all what good things we can do di Negara Brunei Darussalam. We share information, we share songs, we share photos, and we're happy that we made friends along the way. Maybe not close friends - internet friends. The likes of kellz, cuboi, bebehsan, gferro, 04, puzian and many more.

Been contemplating on what to post for Hari Raya. Don't wanna post on the typical Hari Raya stories but other things that may concern us all - since we are in the topic of sharing. hehehe Thanks to our reader 'puzian' for reminding us about Zakat. Zakat ada 2. Zakat Fitrah and Zakat Harta. The former is ubiquitous. Everyone and anyone knows this but the latter is a bit of a not so obvious but very important indeed. This I learnt a couple of years ago after started working and making my own money.

Zakat Harta is compulsory for all Muslims with a minimum sum of money. It is as strict as us having to do puasa and Sembahyang - which I didnt know before. Well I should from ugama school but leaving ugama school for so long all you know is what you practise and that is sembahyang 5 waktu and zakat. Nevertheless we forget the 5 pillars of Islam.

  1. Membaca 2 kalimah Shayadah
  2. Sembahyang 5 waktu
  3. Membayar Zakat
  4. Berpuasa di bulan Ramadhan
  5. Naik Haji (if Mampu)
I am definitely not an expert and who am I to say about this. However would like to share with all of those who were as blind as me so we can all know. 1st time I paid my Zakat was difficult cos it can be a lot for some especially knowing how hard you earned it. You can criticise me all you want but this is true but over the years you become wiser and learn new things. That thing I learnt is that, that money does not belong to you. God Allah gave to you and God says we should give Zakat and that the money we have is for us to manage wisely. So when now when you pay your Zakat, that money is God's money and I only learnt this year that if you don't pay Zakat for all those years you need to Qadha' just like you Qadha for puasa and sembahyang. Again I only knew this year after talking to the Amil.

One thing also is that when you do pay your Zakat at the religious department, you will get to meet many people of different background than yourself. When you hear their cries asking for Zakat you know you have done something good to help them. Seriously just go there especially during pembayaran Zakat to them. It is heart wrenching.. especially when you hear innocent childrens talking freely. Cam nya, 'Bah mama tani bole membali ah kalau mama dapat duit'. I've heard some ask for Zakat cos they dont even have money to buy for clothes.

We think orang Brunei kaya.. we hardly see the other side. The serious side of life atu yang membari kasian. so if you have a minimum sum please pay your Zakat Harta not just cos it's wajib but because you want to and you want to help the poor. Shukur the number of populations over the years - looking at the charts they have there, is definitely growing.. from a couple of hundreds in the 90's then early 2000 went up to 3000 ppl paying Zakat Harta to about 4000 recently. Shukur the number is increasing but still a long way to go. Our population is about over 300,000 people compared to 4000 people paying Zakat Harta and compare that to 3000 over people entitled to Zakat. I don't need to calculate the percentage but that definitely speaks for itself.

So since today is still Ramadhan and the last one. Make your way to the religious department to pay Zakat Harta. If you can't make it you can do so for the whole year. So spread the wealth so other less fortunate then us can enjoy what we enjoy too for Hari Raya.

Selamat Hari Raya to all and thanks to puzian for reminding us. Maaf Zahir & Batin just in case kami at Bahapa Kitani ada tersilap kata kata.

Here's the attached Zakat calculation I got from the religious department.

Are you a FLOATER or a SINKER?

Haha I can't help but laugh the 1st time I asked a friend about this. I asked her are you a FLOATER or a SINKER? She said, I wanna be a floater. I asked her why. She said cos I don't wanna be left behind.

Well good answer but in what context do you think am talking about? Nya 'ENTAH' hahaha cali. I said its about when you do to the toilet. Hmmm 'Banggang face!' hahaha sorry dear. So I told her about this story of this advert I have seen since a couple of weeks ago and since then my toilet visits has never been the same. hahaha

Aw... cmon that's not disgusting! People do it everyday.. One thing is that it's definitely good to know. Here's the advert I see in the papers. This one I got from the website.

Here's the link.

Is Siti Kdi an Eva Longoria the Asian Version?

Though not a big fan of kdi - but have heard so much about it from my aunties. Stumbled upon an advert of this Sit kdi, clips of her singing, with her hair sebiji macam Eva Longoria. Even physically she looks like Eva. I don't know whether it is just me or maybe I saw lain ah. We all thought she does look pretty and she does look a bit like Eva. So do we really have an Asian version of Eva?

So I tried looking for her photos c Siti Kdi ani but not so easy. Eva I have no problem. I only managed to get this.

Vs

hmmm when I look closely cam ada jua... the nose lebih kurang sama.. the cheek bones definitely and that smile. Close.. only difference is makeup.. damit nya pun kan sama.

Hmmmm or Maybe not! What do you think? Are they the same? (I mean if you have seen em on Siti Kdi on TV - this photo does not show much difference)

Crazy on Swarovski Cyrstal!

Baru jua last week someone was selling me those packets of Swarovski crystals for baju raya. Apparently yang dari Dubai is cheaper which people tend to flock to buy. I declined to buying cos ehem 'Nada masa' plus too lazy to stick one by one. Such a hassle on my part though. I could just get my tailor to do it but malas.

Talking about raya and Swarovski crytals guess what other things you can do with em. If you have to have to have spares! hehe

Let your imaginations run wild... Swarovski phone.. Swarovski glasses.. and the list goes on..Think what else you can do with Swarovski Crsytal aside from baju raya.
