Things to Bring for Hajj - Update Version

I thought I re-post an Updated Version of this Post from last. Wow shukur Alhamdullilah for those who get to go. Heard there's more Jemaah this year. Shukur! I wanna go again. Hope it helps Ya'll who are going.

Since Haji Season is coming up soon I might as well list some of the things that might be useful to pack for Haj.

Am definitely not an expert but hey every little helps. You can help too.. just email us or send you comments to add more..

Upon Departure - Make sure you have the following

1. Haji Passport - Yourself and the rest of the family
2. Hand Carry - Enough Baju for sampai di Madinah.
3. Money Cash or Tekad Haji Account (TAIB) - One can take out money from Darussalam if you have the Tekad Haji Account book - Just that the rates will definitely be lower than on the streets. Not to worry, Brunei Dollar is widely acceptable. Money Changer right in front of Taibah Hotel in Madinah. Apparently they said Madinah has better rates than Mekah - again then quote me. Also shopping is much Cheaper in Madinah! So they said. Just in case.
4. Name bracelet - Name Tags
5. Yellow health book.

What to pack?

1. Best to pack and put in transparent plastics. Best way to travel also!
2. Enough baju for a month's worth so maybe several cara melayu, baju kurung, jubah, baju pakistan, trousers. So basically baju for ke masjid.
Last year some asked Baju Pakistan for men - just send to the tailors here they'll know. Jangan jua banyak banar for everyday use - Remember there is laundry everywhere or else you can buy baldi there and wash and dry in your toilet.
3. Baju for jalan jalan
4. Baju tidur
5. Toiletries - but not to worry if can buy there.
6. 4 telekung should be enough. Maybe 2 with the Brunei flag stitched.
7. Medications, medicines & vitamins
8. Slippers yang tahan air especially for after berwudhu - selipar jepun. Scholl are comfy tapi style lama pulang but hey comfort comes 1st, fashion last esp in this situation
9. Comfortable shoes good for jalan jalan and also during meluntar & wukuf
10. Tudong, serukup and aurat covers for hand
11. Padlocks and keys
12. Cream kaki for cracked heals - Yes this is good what did I use last time? I forgot ada tu di Guardian. If you're lazy like me use Vaseline for all rounder. Serious it works! Every night before you go to bed just use vaseline as your mosturiser all over.
13. Food?? but most people say inda payah you will have enough, some people will bring it and you can always buy food there. Barat saja.. Lalap is very useful masa wukuf and di mina.
14. Socks and plenty of em - Yes plenty of em. Some like the ones with the lil toes!
15. Underwears including disposable ones. Yes Disposable ones is useful masa wukuf and di mina.
16. O o heard its a bit chilly this time of year so bring some warm clothes. not too many but enough.. Fleece jackets is useful for masa Subuh... Really!

17. White singlets
18. Small hand towels for wudhu inside masjid in your seat. I added a water sprayer! Just ask whoever next to you to spritz and you do you wudhu! Wudhu for angkota yang wajib! This helps a lot cos when I did it people next to me asked me to spritz them.
19. Small folded scissors for tahlul after Saie or after meluntar 1st Jamrah
20. Money belt may be useful.
21. Disposable Face Mask and plenty of em. Its good to cover your face for health purposes. Cos ramai orang this helps with dust and maybe prevent sickness among using damam. You never know who sits next to you. Just bring 2 boxes you can sedakah to those who needs em.
22. Small bag to bring your Quran, doa and bacaan book and slippers to masjid. Not too big... just a small one cos karang payah simpan or squeeze on the side among people.
23. Small bag or plastic for your slippers. Really this is useful. Slippers kotors kan so if you bring a show bag or plastic at least it covers in your bag.

Masa wukuf di arafah, ke mina for haj or umrah

1. 2 - 3 white baju for women includes jubah, baju kurung, Telekung or anything white for masa waktu Ihram.
2. Disposable undies would be useful
3. Sport shoes or any tough reasonable good shoes for meluntar. Try it before you pack i.e if orang tepijak from any angle during meluntar it wont come off. Sport shoes is enough Meluntar is so much better than it used to be. You have plenty of space Insyallah if the timing is right!
4. Men not required. hehehe as you know men only wear 2 white towels during Ihram
5. For men during wukuf - bring 1 - 2 baju cara melayu which can be used after tahlul awal which is after the 1st meluntar jamratul aqabah
6. Proper and tough hand carry which we can drag - who knows you have to walk a long way from the bus to the tent. Yes this is true. Not a big hand carry but a tough one.. Trying running with it dulu. I listed this before I went and it actually happened we were rushing for the bus amongst the bustling crowd lagi tu. What an experience. You may want the bag you can run with and then naik bus and tarus angkat put on the bus! Also who knows your bus breakdown so don't carry too big a bag.
7. Toiletries - pack light. bring in small travel containers. Toothbrush don't forget!
8. Very light towel or those wet towels with no perfume! Very useful..
9. Torch lights for ambil batu for meluntar.
10. Small bag to put the batu in.

MAIN POINT is to PACK LIGHT - SERIOUSLY!

Hope I've covered most of it. Hey if ya'll have more to add please send in your contribution will help a lot .. send us some emails or comments. Cheers. Every little helps!
